About this module

Take the next step in your journey to becoming an effective childhood practitioner

The Upskilling Module is an introduction to the course. It's online and you'll have reading, writing and reflective thinking activities to undertake.

This module provides illustrations of the different types of experience, knowledge, skills and attributes necessary to be an effective early years and childhood practitioner.

What you will learn

This module includes sessions on:

  • promoting confidence in students’ capabilities as learners
  • developing an understanding of professionalism
  • building the personal and inter-personal skill-sets (eg problem solving, critical awareness; a questioning mind, resilience) necessary to work in the field and be an effective Lead Practitioner
  • developing a critical and reflective approach to workplace practice
  • understanding the ideologies, policies, purposes and practices of children’s services nationally and internationally

Tutor will be assigned soon.

Entry requirement

This course is only available to those who have received an offer for the BA Childhood Practice course and require the Upskilling Module in order to gain access.
